JOB SUMMARY

Join our team as an International Wholesale Banking LATAM Market Intelligence Intern. We are seeking a highly data-driven and detail-oriented individual to analyze emerging markets and develop actionable business strategies. The primary focus of this role involves taking ownership of analyzing trade flows across Latin America, transforming raw market data into high-impact insights that will directly guide our corporate business growth within this dynamic region. 

DUTIES OF THE POSITION 

The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Objective Market Identification: Research and identify relevant trade sectors (e.g., Chilean Mining, Peru Agrobusiness, or Colombian Tech) that fit Bci Miami's strategy and product offer.  

  • Value Proposition Analysis: Map the market needs for LATAM exporters to ensure a "market-fit" strategy for BCI Miami’s products.

  • Competitive Benchmarking: Research the strengths of top players in the market and relevant competitors to identify market opportunities.

  • Data Analysis: Utilize various sources of information (e.g. Veritrade) and regional economic data to create "Market Maps" to help define target industries, 

  • Corridor Mapping: Analyze the advantages of the "Miami Hub" advantage, identifying how its product spectrum creates value for specific import/export companies in LATAM. 

  • Executive Presentations: Design and deliver weekly briefings and presentations to senior leadership, detailing trade patterns into clear recommendations.

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES 

In the performance of their duties, all Bci - Miami Branch staff members are required to comply all state and federal regulatory and legal requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1979, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and the Bank Bribery Amendments Act. Additionally, all staff members must comply with in the Bci’s Personnel Manual and Code of Ethics and other policies of Bci which are either currently in place or which may become effective during the staff member’s employment. 

PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION: 


EDUCATION: 

Currently pursuing a degree in International Business, Economics, Finance, or Data Analytics.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Demonstrated interest in or foundational knowledge of the Latin American economic landscape and financial markets.

  • Fluent in Spanish (preferred) to effectively engage with regional markets and internal teams.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly present information to diverse stakeholders within Bci.

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Proactive, adaptable mindset with an eagerness to learn and thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment where market conditions can change rapidly.
