<h3>The Position</h3><p><u><b>2026 Summer Intern - Regev Lab - Decoding Genetic Circuitry</b></u></p><p></p><p><b><b>Department Summary</b></b></p><p></p><p>Regev lab is seeking a talented and highly motivated intern with a strong computational and analytical background in computational biology. This project aims to decode the genetic circuitry of human immune cells by analyzing high-dimensional perturbation datasets.</p><p></p><p><span>This internship position is located in</span><b><span> </span></b><b>South San Francisco, on-site. </b></p><p></p><p><b><b>The Opportunity</b></b></p><p></p><p>By applying rigorous statistical methods, the research focuses on interpreting and analyzing cell states to determine how genetic interventions drive phenotypic shifts. A key objective is to relate transcriptomic profiles to broader biological contexts, bridging the gap between gene expression and functional outcomes to map the rules governing immune cell behavior.</p><p></p><p><b><b>Program Highlights</b></b></p><ul><li><p><b><b>Intensive </b><b>12-weeks</b><b>, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.</b></b></p></li><li><p><b><b>Program start dates are in </b><b>May/June 2026. </b></b></p></li><li><p><b><b>A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. </b></b></p></li><li><p><span>Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Who You Are </b></b></p><p><b><b>Required Education: </b></b></p><ul><li><p>Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).</p></li><li><p>Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Required Majors: </b></b>Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, or Bioengineering.</p><p></p><p><b><b>Required Skills: </b></b></p><ul><li><p>Analyze High-Dimensional Perturbation Data: Interrogate large-scale genetic screens (e.g., Perturb-seq) to map the landscape of gene function and regulatory networks.</p></li><li><p>Apply Statistical Frameworks: Utilize rigorous quantitative approaches to identify robust gene expression programs and relate these transcriptomic patterns to broader spatial or genomic contexts.</p></li><li><p>Drive Data-Informed Validation: Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to translate computational findings into actionable experimental targets, helping to prioritize specific hits for follow-up and functional characterization.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications</b></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. </b></b></p><p></p><p><span>The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California<span> </span>is </span><span>$50.00 hourly.
