About the Role
The Cybersecurity Intern will support initiatives that strengthen how cybersecurity risks, controls, and awareness activities are documented, tracked, and communicated. This role focuses on assessment support, reporting standardization, and development of reusable governance and awareness artifacts rather than day-to-day security operations. The internship provides hands-on experience in cybersecurity governance, risk management, and executive-level reporting within an enterprise environment.

This intern will be an active participant in the C.H. Guenther Internship Program cohort, receiving mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities. C.H. Guenther is dedicated to delivering an enriching internship experience that goes beyond hands-on work to support long-term professional growth.

The intern program will run from June 8 to August 14, 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support cybersecurity risk and control assessment activities by collecting, organizing, and summarizing assessment inputs. 

  • Assist with the development of standardized cybersecurity reporting and documentation to support ongoing governance and oversight. 

  • Support the planning and analysis of security awareness and training activities, including documentation of approach and results. 

  • Help develop and maintain a centralized repository or dashboard to improve visibility into cybersecurity governance artifacts and metrics. 

  • Assist with trend analysis and high-level risk reporting to support leadership communication and decision-making. 

  • Contribute to the creation of repeatable templates, playbooks, and documentation that can be reused across assessment cycles. 

  • Prepare summaries and materials to support executive reviews, audits, or governance forums. 

  • Document project outcomes, recommendations, and learnings to support long-term program maturity. 

 

 

Minimum Job Requirements: 

 

Education/Certifications and Experience: 

  • Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or a related field. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Proficiency in cyber security frameworks and standards, including NIST, ISO, and IEC. 

  • Familiarity with a variety of cyber security tools and technologies, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), IDS/IPS, NAC, and VPN (Virtual Private Network). 

  • Understanding of infrastructure and OT systems and protocols, including SCADA, PLC (programmable logic controllers), and DCS. 

  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills for efficiently identifying and resolving issues. 

  • Effective engagement with diverse teams and stakeholders, spanning entry-level to executive-level positions. 

  • Strong multitasking abilities, adept at managing multiple tasks with varying deadlines. 

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure thoroughness and accuracy. 

  • Professional demeanor and polished communication skills, whether interacting over the phone or in person. 

Working Conditions and Physical Effort: 

  • Typical work in office environment. 

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times. 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer that may require repetitive tasks, such as data entry and report generation.

Candidates relocating from a distance of more than 50 miles will be eligible for a housing stipend. 

At C.H. Guenther, we value transparency in compensation. By providing the salary range for this role, we aim to promote fairness and help candidates make informed choices about their career. The salary range for this role is:

$17.58 - $27.33

Actual compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as geographic location.
