About the Role

The Student Training and Employment Program (STEP) is an exciting program that offers students who are blind or visually impaired across Indiana the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of finding and keeping a job. This summer program provides a well-balanced schedule of classroom learning, job placement to gain real-world work experience, and fun recreational activities.

Participants will be placed in a paid internship in the community with a job coach at the job site who will aid with training. STEP participants will be compensated by Bosma Enterprises for all hours worked. Students must be Indiana residents, between the ages of 16 and 22, display independence and a capability for self-help, and possess daily living skills and social interaction capability. Participants must also be currently enrolled in an educational program or be a recent graduate from high school.
