About the Role
The Culinary R&D Intern will support insights-led exploration and development of global sauce concepts in collaboration with Culinary and R&D teams. This role will contribute to establishing product standards and developing scalable sauce formulations aligned with existing manufacturing capabilities. The internship provides hands-on experience in culinary innovation, formulation development, and cross-functional R&D collaboration.

ShapeThis intern will be an active participant in the C.H. Guenther Internship Program cohort, receiving mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities. C.H. Guenther is dedicated to delivering an enriching internship experience that goes beyond hands-on work to support long-term professional growth.

The intern program will run from June 8 to August 14, 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Leverage consumer, market, and culinary insights to inform global sauce concept development. 

  • Support the creation of product standards for targeted sauce profiles in collaboration with Culinary and R&D stakeholders. 

  • Develop and refine multiple scalable global sauce formulations aligned with manufacturing and commercialization requirements. 

  • Partner with R&D scientists to prioritize efficient, scalable ingredient solutions. 

  • Participate in bench development, testing, and iteration to ensure flavor and performance. 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure concepts are on-trend, viable, and business-ready. 

  • Prepare formulations for internal and external evaluation. 

  • Document learnings to support future innovation efforts. 

 

Education: 

  • Pursuing a degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, or a related field. 

 

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Cooking and baking experience. 

  • Strong skills in recipe writing and testing. 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. 

 

Working Conditions and Physical Effort: 

  • Moderate physical effort required, such as standing, sitting, and walking in and around the kitchen and office; the ability to lift up to 25 pounds; reaching, climbing, and kneeling as needed; utilizing fine dexterity, the ability to see, hear, and communicate with associates and others by using professional etiquette.

Candidates relocating from a distance of more than 50 miles will be eligible for a housing stipend. 

At C.H. Guenther, we value transparency in compensation. By providing the salary range for this role, we aim to promote fairness and help candidates make informed choices about their career. The salary range for this role is:

$17.58 - $27.33

Actual compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as geographic location.
