About the Role

In a nutshell

This internship at Toyota Motor Europe focuses on benchmarking and supporting the development of eco-friendly car accessories in line with carbon neutrality and circular economy goals. You will analyse how accessories are going “green” across the industry and help introduce recycled, recyclable, and lightweight alternatives, as well as new products that reduce overall vehicle impact. Working with multiple stakeholders, you’ll contribute to more sustainable accessory solutions that support Toyota’s environmental ambitions and industry transition.

Your team and your responsibilities

Team/division description

           

Accessory development division is responsible to plan, develop and sell genuine accessories for all Toyota models sold in Europe. Accessory includes vehicle customization & personalization parts (stickers, garnishes, ..), functional parts not fitted in the vehicle factory (towing hitch, roof racks,..), protection parts (mats, trunk protection,..) and many more.

 

Your project

 

Inline with TME commitments towards Carbon Neutrality and Circular Economy, car accessories are now also trending towards eco-friendly products. These could be alternatives of existing products using eg recycled/recyclable or lightwheigt materials to reduce the environmental impact but also completely new products dedicated to the total  vehicle impact reduction (eg positive aerodynamic impact).

Your project consists of support the development and introduction recycled and recycable  accessories:

  • Existing accessories moving to ‘green’
  • New type of accessories supporting the industry transition

Your Profile

  • You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
  • You’ve interest for automotive engineering and new technologies
  • You’re a good communicator and not afraid to approach many stakeholders in and outside the company.
  • You’re able to present complex information in a comprehensive & structured way using existing tools (Powerpoint,…)

 

Starting date: ASAP

 

Duration: 6 months

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.

 

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

 

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
