The Baby Fold is a nonprofit organization that has been dedicated to the well-being of children and families since 1902. We successfully impact over 1200 people a year with a wide array of programs all designed to wrap services around children and strengthen families. Our life-changing programs range from Adoption Support to Foster care, to special education through our Hammitt School and early intervention programs that give children a healthy start in life. Fall/Winter/Spring Internship Opportunities
The Baby Fold | Normal, IL
Internship Type: Unpaid | Academic Credit Available

Requirements: Age 21 or older with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Requirements


1. Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field.

2. Must be at least 21 years old.

3. Ability to meet DCFS driver eligibility requirements.

4. Demonstrated ability to provide care, supervision, and behavior management for children.

5. Ability to commit hours outside of office hours as needed for clients we serve (visitation) in consideration with the student’s schedule.

6. Knowledge and skills necessary to relate and communicate successfully in a professional capacity to child and adult clients within the program.

7. Willingness and ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed to meet the needs of the agency and the families we serve.

8. Demonstrated competence in serving a culturally diverse population. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse workforce.

9. Physical ability to maintain the safety and well-being of children for whom there is responsibility.

10. Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

11. Must pass necessary background checks.

12. Ability and willingness to travel for job responsibilities, including the ability drive distances to enter the homes of families in the service area and throughout the state of Illinois, a valid driver’s license, and use of a personal vehicle with adequate insurance preferred.

13. Ability to work cooperatively with staff within The Baby Fold, as well as with necessary collateral contacts.

14. Mission-oriented and willing to apply The Baby Fold’s mission and values to the performance of job responsibilities.
