Boardwalk is a limited partnership operating in the midstream portion of the natural gas and natural gas liquids industry, providing transportation and storage services for our customers. We are currently looking for a Summer Intern – Tactical Projects for our Covington, TN; Owensboro, KY; or Flowood, MS office

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

The Engineer Intern will provide technical support across a range of natural gas and liquids

pipeline projects to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable transportation of natural gas and

hazardous liquids.

 

This role is responsible for supporting the Tactical Project Team by interpreting company

specifications to effectively scope, plan, and execute assigned projects. The Engineer Intern will

review drawing packages for alignment with project objectives and compliance with applicable

company and industry specifications, codes, and standards. Additional responsibilities include

selecting appropriate materials to ensure fitness for service and providing support to various

project managers across multiple concurrent projects

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Enrolled in an accredited engineering program pursuing a Bachelor of Science in engineering.
  • Strong skill level in Microsoft Excel Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project
  • Well organized with a high degree of initiative and motivation
  • Ability to work positively and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound technical mindset to be able to review and understand engineering deliverable
  • Strong technical writing capabilities required to draft engineering, construction and land contracts.
  • Able to communicate well, both verbal and written, with team members, clients permitting agency personnel, landowners and contractors.
  • 3.0 GPA
  • Able to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Valid driver’s license and insurability

 

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Mechanical or Civil Engineering track
  • Prior internship or COOP experience
  • Leadership position in school projects and/or extracurricular organizations
  • Volunteer experience
  • 3.5 GPA

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a current Junior or Senior
  • student
  • Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
