Job Overview
We are seeking a Community Outreach Intern to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. As a Community Outreach Intern, you join a team of infrastructure solutions experts working to solve our client’s ever evolving project needs.  This opportunity will be located at our client office in Chicago, IL and could have potential to be hybrid depending on the specific client, project and team needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with digital and in-person outreach efforts (may include drafting language for social media engagement, project communication, talking points, presentation content, and other public engagement activities)
  • Assist with tracking outreach efforts, community feedback, and compiling data or reports on engagement progress to inform future strategies  
  • Assist with and provide lived expertise on youth engagement strategies and outreach
  • Able to work independently and is comfortable with or willing to grow into assignments that may be ambiguous or are not directly, but indirectly, tied to outreach
  • Attend project related community events and be willing to go the extra mile
  • General support of outreach team; duties and tasks as needed/assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Currently a 3rd or 4th year student enrolled full- or part-time at an accredited college or university majoring in Journalism; Public Relations; Communications; Management; Marketing; Business; Urban Planning; Public Administration; or related field of study
  • Possess a strong interest in social media, current affairs, local community impact issues, and writing with their finger on the pulse of public and community outreach along with current methods utilized for the creation of a successful public/community outreach plan
  • Possess ability to be flexible and self-sufficient
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Have a team player mindset with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal forms
  • Have good to great organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Grade point average and scholastic achievements will be bonuses for consideration
  • Previous work experiences in the above-listed qualifications
  • Extracurricular involvement

Hourly Pay: $25, Ardmore Roderick is providing the compensation range that the company believes it might pay and/or offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
