About the Role

The Opportunity

We currently seek a Transportation Development Intern to support the Infrastructure Business Unit in our Charlotte, NC office.   

 

The Transportation Development Intern will primarily work with associates based in Charlotte, NC assisting the Transportation Development Group.  Transportation Development projects include a variety of roadway widening, new locations, intersections, interchange, and tolling projects at various stages of project development. The intern will provide key support on tasks related to project planning efforts, including data collection, data analysis, mapping, report writing, and public involvement. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Current student studying Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or related field at an ABET-accredited university
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
  • Willingness to work with different teams to meet project deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision as well as within a collaborative team environment
  • Strong work ethic aligning with the company’s mission and core values

Preferred Qualifications:                 

  • 2.5 GPA or above
  • Plans to graduate in December 2026 or May 2027
  • Coursework that includes Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, and/or Traffic Engineering
  • Previous internship experience
  • Exposure to ArcGIS
