As an Audit Analyst Co-op student, you'll gain hands-on exposure to risk-based technology auditing, including identity and access management, change/release management, backup & recovery, logging/monitoring, and vendor/third-party risk. You will develop core technical and business skills while collaborating with experienced internal auditors, cybersecurity specialists, and technology leaders in a supportive learning environment.

Position Responsibilities:
Support risk-based audits across infrastructure and platforms (e.g., identity & access, change/release management, vulnerability/patch, backup/DR, logging/SIEM). Execute well-defined test steps, gather and evaluate evidence, and maintain clear, reproducible workpapers.
Participate in process walkthroughs; draft or update narratives and risk & control matrices (RCMs). Contribute to scoping by identifying key risks, control objectives, and relevant criteria.
Perform data analysis using Excel/SQL/BI to profile populations, select samples, and build repeatable scripts that improve testing efficiency and coverage.
Draft concise, decision-useful observations with risk statements, business impact, and pragmatic remediation; map results to recognized frameworks where applicable (e.g., technology/cyber risk expectations and cybersecurity controls).
Collaborate professionally with control owners and second/third lines; support issue validation and continuous improvement of the audit methodology, templates, and dashboards.
Required Qualifications:
1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in data protection, access and information security.
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program (Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related) and returning to school after work term (e.g., Fall 2026).
Hands-on experience in using AI (ChatGPT, M365 Co-pilot) or AI assisted applications including creating meaningful and focused prompts
Strong analytical thinking, professional skepticism, and attention to detail; ability to follow a methodology and document work clearly.
Effective written and verbal communication tailored to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Intermediate Excel; familiarity with SQL and/or BI tools (e.g., Power BI or Tableau).
Ability to work from our Toronto office on a hybrid basis; availability for a 4-, 8-, or 12-month term.
Legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the work term.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to technology platforms, identity platforms (e.g., Azure AD/Entra), or ticketing/ITSM system (e.g., ServiceNow).
Familiarity with technology/cyber frameworks and regulatory expectations in financial services (e.g., Industry technology & cyber risk guidance, cybersecurity frameworks).
Experience with scripting/automation (e.g., Python) to support repeatable testing or data wrangling.
Working knowledge or coursework covering IT general controls (access, change, operations) or cybersecurity fundamentals.
Interest in or progress toward professional certifications in systems audit (e.g., IIA CIA, ISACA CISA, CompTIA Security+).
