Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Join us for an exciting summer!  We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Buyer team as a Supplier Development Intern.

 

As a Supplier Development intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting data-driven procurement and supplier negotiation strategies within a global supply chain environment. This role offers exposure to cost modeling, supplier data analysis, and manufacturing process improvement while working closely with the buying team.

 

In this role, you will train on cost analysis software to build “should-cost” models for current products, supporting upcoming supplier negotiations. You will also analyze supplier manufacturing processes to eliminate waste, efficiency and design analysis, and investigation of potential suppliers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Train on cost analysis software and support the buying team by developing should-cost models
  • Research global and domestic market data to support accurate cost modeling and supplier negotiations
  • Analyze supplier data, including price trends and contract effective dates
  • Assist in assessing supplier manufacturing processes and potential suppliers.
  • Support workload planning and strategic sourcing initiatives within the buying team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support procurement strategy development
  • Visit suppliers onsite as needed to gather necessary information and data for accurate should cost modeling

 

Internship Goals:

  • Gain a clear understanding of tools used by advanced purchasing organizations to create leverage maximizing your company's buying power.
  • Be able to communicate the challenges and best practices to maximize one's effectiveness when working within a global organization.
  • Conclude the internship with a broader knowledge of the complexity and challenges involved in managing a company the current political uncertainty.
