This intern will be an active participant in the C.H. Guenther Internship Program cohort, receiving mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities. C.H. Guenther is dedicated to delivering an enriching internship experience that goes beyond hands-on work to support long-term professional growth.
The intern program will run from June 8 to August 14, 2026.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct time and motion studies across a manufacturing process to document cycle times, changeovers, downtime, and variability.
Analyze production flow to identify and quantify process constraints impacting overall throughput.
Support bottleneck analysis using collected data to understand root causes and improvement opportunities.
Develop a prioritized set of improvement recommendations, which may include process changes, equipment enhancements, layout adjustments, or automation concepts.
Assist with cost-benefit and ROI analysis to evaluate the potential impact of proposed improvements.
Compile findings into clear, data-driven documentation to support leadership review and decision-making.
Prepare and present project summaries and recommendations to Engineering, Operations, and internship stakeholders.
Education:
Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Analytical and organizational skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Engineering coursework or relevant college experience.
Ability to evaluate processes and recommend improvements.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
Work involves exposure to bakery environments, including potential exposure to heat, noise, and production-related elements.
Moderate physical effort required, such as standing, walking, and climbing in and around the bakery; the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther, will be provided.

Candidates relocating from a distance of more than 50 miles will be eligible for a housing stipend.

$17.58 - $27.33Actual compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as geographic location.
