We are seeking a motivated and curious Controls Systems Field Intern to join our team for a hands-on learning experience. This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical knowledge in building automation, HVAC controls, and electrical systems while working alongside experienced Installers, Programmers, and Project Managers in the field. In addition to the field facing focus, some time will be given to shadow experienced team members performing system design and programming to provide a preview of various building automation system disciplines.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>· Pull and secure wire between controllers and devices</p> <p>· Mount control devices such as temperature sensors and actuators and learn the importance of various devices</p> <p>· Mount panels and panel components</p> <p>· Properly terminate wire at controllers and control devices</p> <p>· Perform simple conduit work such as straight conduit stub-ups through ceiling grid from a panel or conduit stubs through a wall</p> <p>· To be able to explain basic low-voltage wiring principles</p> <p>· Learn how to use a meter for simple troubleshooting and can understand simple wiring diagrams</p> <p>· Is expected to work independently on a set of specific installation tasks of increasing difficulty through the internship and learn by receiving feedback from Supervisor or Peers</p> <p>· Jobsite cleanup</p> <p>· Completes documentation including timesheets and project notes</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The Required Profile</p> <p>· High school diploma or equivalent</p> <p>· 0-2 years of experience working in construction, controls or similar industry preferred</p> <p>· Ability to understand and comply to jobsite and company safety requirements</p> <p>· Demonstrates a positive attitude and a desire to learn</p> <p>· Ability to take directions for specific tasks</p> <p>· Demonstrates mechanical aptitude and basic hand tool skills</p> <p>· Good verbal and written skills</p> <p>· Valid driver’s license, and acceptable driving record</p> <p>· Basic computer skills required</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Other Skills/Abilities</p> <p>Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.</p> <p>Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Environmental Requirements</p> <p>Will be required to work in a field environment, multiple customer sites on a daily basis.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
