About the Role

Please note that this role is based in the United Kingdom. To enable us to meet the statutory and regulatory obligations of the United Kingdom immigration system, you must have the appropriate immigration permission needed to work and reside in the United Kingdom for the duration of the employment.

To be considered for this role, you will need to provide your CV and a short cover letter answering the following:

  • What two key skills do you have that would help you succeed in this role?

  • How will this internship support your future career aspirations?

  • What television shows, films, or creators inspire you and why?

Only applications that attach both documents will be considered.

The International Production division creates, develops and produces all Sony Pictures Television content outside of the US for both local and global audiences. Through a portfolio of production companies around the world, supported by a central team across the UK, US and Spain, we produce scripted and unscripted programming distributed internationally. Our titles include The Crown, Industry, Doctor Who, Dept Q, Who Wants to be a Millionaire? and Shark Tank / Dragon’s Den. The division has also set up a digital studio, creating digital-first content and formats and building Sony-owned brands.

We work in partnership with some of the world’s leading producers, through businesses that are either wholly owned or joint ventures. Together, we develop and deliver award-winning shows and support talent both in front of and behind the camera.

The central team, many of whom are based in London, supports our production companies across a wide range of disciplines, including legal, finance and operations. The team also drives development and internationally appealing IP, fosters co-productions and buyer relationships, and explores new opportunities and emerging talent.

This placement is ideal for someone curious about how creative ideas become commercially successful global television and digital content. Supporting the team will give you a well-rounded introduction to how television shows are developed, financed and sold around the world. You will also gain insight into how a digital business with diversified revenue streams is built, and how corporate functions support both areas behind the scenes. In addition, you will gain first-hand insight into how senior executives within the division work, collaborate and make decisions.

What you’ll do

  • Support the executive assistant team in their day-to-day activities, including executive support, meeting and chaperoning guests and talent and aiding the President and EVP with ad hoc projects and tasks.

  • Collaborate on events such as summits, parties, screenings and team building events, as well as larger meetings.

  • Work on documents and processes that support the business, including presentations, basic design work, sourcing artwork and new trailers, invoice management, and production trackers.

  • Contribute to office management tasks and team meetings.

  • Research and undertake projects for different teams: digital, scripted development, operations & strategy, business affairs and finance. This might be very varied – anything from digital research on YouTubers, to reading scripts, from research on AI, to market analysis.

  • Shadow occasional meetings and projects when appropriate.

  • Get involved with production where possible, either shadowing within our London-based production companies or visiting sets if productions are available.

  • Embrace EBRG (Employee Business Resource Groups) opportunities by helping with their events, organisation, and other opportunities within the London SPE office.

What you’ll have

  • Keen interest and basic understanding of the TV industry, and a love of watching television.

  • Comfortable working with numbers and confident using common workplace software, particularly Microsoft Office.

  • Familiarity and experience with all forms of new media, including social media platforms.

  • An interest in AI, with a curiosity about how AI tools can be used to support productivity and creative development.

  • Highly organised with the ability to multitask, set priorities, flex between different projects, and meet deadlines whilst maintaining strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and confident team player with a keenness to learn and get involved.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.

What you’ll gain

  • A unique insight into the corporate side of the global television production industry, with exposure to how ideas are developed, financed, produced and sold internationally.

  • Hands-on experience providing executive support, offering a strong foundation for a wide range of careers in the television and media industries.

  • An understanding of how different corporate functions - including development, digital, operations, strategy, business affairs and finance - work together to support successful productions.

  • Practical workplace skills such as professional communication, stakeholder management, organisation, prioritisation and problem-solving.

  • The opportunity to learn directly from senior executives and experienced professionals, gaining insight into leadership styles and decision-making at the highest level.

  • Exposure to a major international studio environment, building confidence and clarity about future career paths.

  • The chance to build meaningful industry contacts and potential mentors to support your future career throughout the department and wider business.

Interview Process

  • In-person Assessment centre in our London office on Thursday 5th March.

  • Second stage virtual interview with the hiring managers.

The deadline for applications is Friday 13th February 2026.
