About zaimler
AI agents can't reason over data they don't understand. Enterprise data today is fragmented across dozens of systems with no shared context, meaning, or structure, and that's why most enterprise AI is failing. The shift from copilots to autonomous agents is creating an entirely new infrastructure layer, and we're building it.
zaimler is the context infrastructure for the agentic era: a platform that automatically discovers domain knowledge, maps relationships, and gives AI agents the semantic understanding to operate with precision at scale. Imagine knowledge graphs that support real-time inference, built for systems that need to reason, not just retrieve.
zaimler was founded by Biswajit Das (ex-VP Engineering, Truera), a Data Infra veteran and former Chief Architect at Visa, and Sofus Macskassy (ex-Director of Engineering, LinkedIn), who built one of the largest knowledge graphs in production in the industry at LinkedIn. We're a small, senior team at the seed stage, deploying with major enterprises across insurance, travel, and technology. If you want to build infrastructure that the next decade of AI runs on, we'd love to talk.
About the Job
We are looking for a few interns to join us either part-time through the year or full-time for the summer. The ideal candidate should have an interest and some experience across both frontend and backend development. In this internship, you'll build features end-to-end, from the API layer through the UI, working on the product that enterprise data teams use to interact with zaimler's semantic graph platform. You will get hands-on experience shipping complete features in a fast-moving startup environment where you can see the full picture of how a product comes together.
\n- Build features end to end: design APIs, implement backend logic, and create the frontend interfaces that surface them to users
- Develop and extend internal tools and workflows that support the engineering and data teams
- Work on integrations between zaimler's platform and external enterprise systems
- Write tests across the stack and contribute to CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate closely with product, infrastructure, and ML engineers to scope and deliver new capabilities
- Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in CS
- Startup internship experience is highly preferred
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one backend language (Python, Go, or Java)
- Experience with React or a similar frontend framework
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar)
- Comfortable working across the stack and switching contexts between frontend and backend
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design
- Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
- Great communication skills and a team player
- Experience building and deploying a full stack application (side project, hackathon, or prior internship)
- Familiar with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Interest in data visualization, graph databases, or knowledge graph systems
- Familiar with Next.js, FastAPI, or similar modern frameworks
- Experience with authentication, authorization, or multi-tenant application patterns
We value builders over résumés. If this role excites you but you don't check every box, we still want to hear from you. zaimler is an equal opportunity employer.
