Purpose & Responsibilities of Position:

The Bioanalytics Intern will have the opportunity to learn the concept of extractables and leachables (E&L) and their critical role in ensuring drug product quality and patient safety. The intern will participate in HPLC/UV/MS experimental design and data analysis to support E&L assessments. This internship provides hands-on experience in an analytical laboratory supporting HPLC, UV-VIS, and mass spectrometry analyses, gaining exposure to method execution, data interpretation, and good laboratory practices.

 

  • Prepare samples, standards, and reagents for HPLC/UV/MS analyses.
  • Operate and maintain analytical instruments under supervision.
  • Perform data acquisition, basic data processing, and documentation in laboratory notebooks.
  • Draft standard operation procedures(SOP) for HPLC/UV/MS method.
  • Presenting the results in inter-departmental meetings.

  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in 4-year degree program pursuing bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering or related fields as rising junior or senior; can also be current Master’s or PhD student.
  • GPA at least 3.0
  • Previous HPLC experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to perform laboratory searches, read laboratory procedures, and document work in a laboratory notebook.
  • Proficiency in laboratory skills including pipetting, use of balance, volumetric glassware, making solutions and laboratory safety awareness.
