About the Milken Institute’s Singapore Internship Program

 

The Milken Institute’s Singapore Internship Program aims to cultivate the next generation of leaders who are equipped to tackle the issues that shape the global agenda as they enter the financial, investment, corporate, multilateral, or philanthropic sectors. We create a customized experience for each intern, which is tailored to their interest area and career trajectory as well as emphasizes their professional and personal development. This experience includes opportunities to:


  • Interact with high-level business leaders, government representatives, investors, and academic experts
  • Meet and work with the Milken Institute’s global network of senior executives 
  • Learn from senior leaders at the Milken Institute
  • Gain insights into the workings of global financial markets through dedicated workshops
  • Network with an international and diverse group of peers and professionals 

 

About the Position 

 

The Business & Program Development team offers students (Bachelor’s or Master’s) pursuing a career in investment banking, private banking, or asset management unique exposure to the key players in the investment management and banking landscape of the Asia-Pacific region.
 

Working closely with the Business and Program Development team, the Business Development Intern will focus on engaging current strategic partners, developing new partnerships, and expanding audiences around our series of events including the Asia Summit,a tremendous opportunity to join the team organizing this exclusive, invitation-only event that will gather over 1,000 high-profile executives, influential investors, heads of sovereign wealth funds, and philanthropists from around the world.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct research and analysis of key players in the financial services (banks, asset managers, institutional investors), family business, and philanthropic communities
  • Attend client meetings and produce post-meeting deliverables, including sponsorship proposals for potential partners
  • Support the planning, logistics and execution of Business and Program Development led programs at the Asia Summit
  • Coordinate the management of the CRM database and invitation mailings with the Los Angeles and other global offices
  • Regularly update the team with pertinent market news and trends
  • Duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

  • Demonstrates a keen interest and aptitude in financial services, business development, and global markets
  • Exhibits solid research and analytical skill, with high proficiency in both spoken and written English
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and communicative skills 
  • Able to work in a dynamic team environment, capable of both collaborative and independent work
  • Committed to professional growth and learning in a challenging environment
  • Proficiency in a regional language, such as but not limited to Japanese, Korean, and/or Mandarin, is a substantial plus but not required

 

Internship Duration

 

We offer 4 to 12-month internships with flexibility on the dates. We have a strong preference for interns who can stay through the completion of the Asia Summit, until at least 9th October 2026. In the event of health restrictions, we expect interns to be able to work fully remotely as needed and join team meetings and other calls virtually.

We are interested in qualified candidates who are eligible to work in Singapore. Please note, we are not sponsoring employment passes or work visas at this time—being authorized to work in Singapore is a precondition of employment. This includes Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs) and individuals who already hold a valid and independent work pass that does not require sponsorship from our company.

 

This position will work a hybrid schedule consisting of three (3) days per week reporting in-person to your respective office location (Tuesday – Thursday), with the remaining two (2) days working remotely.  This schedule is subject to change in the Institute’s sole discretion.
