About the Role
Job Title:  R&D Intern, Catheter New Product Development
Location: This position is based in our Campbell, California offices, on-site & full-time. Imperative Care does not provide relocation or additional housing compensation for the summer internship.

What You’ll Do
This position works alongside the engineering team and individually to assist in projects focused on new neurovascular product development. Responsibilities may include the following
  • Interact with engineers to understand product requirements.
  • Refine design limits of product via engineering characterization testing, tolerance stack up analysis and other analytical tools as needed.
  • Participate in the design and development of test methods and fixtures
  • Collaborate with team to conduct and/or support pre-DV and design verification testing.
  • Review test data against established acceptance criteria, conduct data analysis, and write appropriate test documentation.
  • Draft and release design drawings and documentation for components and finished goods.  

What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum of 2 years of college-level coursework in an engineering discipline & a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Familiar with R&D test equipment used for testing (such as Instron tensile tester, Keyence)
  • Able to use SolidWorks for drawing and designing tooling, fixtures, devices and related items
  • Knowledge of materials (Polymers, Metals, Chemicals) as related to medical devices
  • Familiarity with CAD, machining, and rapid prototyping tools a plus tensile, simulated use, or other test methods related to the project
  • Strong organizational skills: management of multiple priorities and timing
  • Good interpersonal skills, effective communication, and partnership with R&D and other departments

Salary: $29/hourly for 10 week internship
