Job Description

During this internship, you will help support manage purchasing project engineering for Steering Drive Systems. A few of your key responsibilities include: 

  • Collaborate and support key functions including strategic planning, inter-departmental communication, and supplier relationship development.
  • Oversee supplier development tasks for new components, ensuring timely sample delivery, production readiness, and adherence to implementation timelines.
  • Contribute to team-led improvement projects aimed at enhancing productivity, optimizing cycle times, and reducing failures.
  • Perform various follow-up and administrative tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Automotive, Materials, or a related field).
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Proficient in English (written and verbal communication).
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to commit to a minimum 1-year internship period.

**This internship will be onsite in Plymouth, MI. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Analytical and structural approach.
  • Work well independently, highly motivated, results oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to develop network in very complex company culture.
  • Presentation Skills
