The Process Optimization and Control (POC) team is responsible for developing cutting-edge nanometer-scale metrology for semiconductor process control. We are actively searching for a dynamic eBeam Metrology Application Developer who thrives in a results-driven culture to join our team in summer 2026! We offer a flexible work environment which allows the team to work both on and off site, flexible hours. At Applied Materials, you’ve earned it. The position will entail the following:

Responsibilities

Assist with eBeam metrology development projects

Support developing image solutions for eBeam metrology systems which address critical gaps

Conduct software and algorithm qualification to address performance gaps

Perform deep analysis of processes using analytical tools and derive actionable conclusions

Generate reports and deliver results to customers

Requirements

Student must be pursuing a Master’s degree program in Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering , Applied Physics or related field.

Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale

Understand the statistical data analytics techniques. Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information Have general knowledge of and/or exposure to semiconductor industry, process and/or metrology is a plus

Acquired conceptual knowledge and/or experience of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM, eBeam) is a plus

General knowledge of programming (e.g. Python, Matlab, etc) is a plus but not required

Flexible and adaptable mindset

Self-motivated to achieve objectives and meet deadlines under moderate level of guidance and direction

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
