Internship Opportunity

VisionFund International (VFI) is the microfinance arm of World Vision, dedicated to providing credit, insurance, and savings services to underserved communities worldwide.  

Join the Resource Development and Management team responsible for VisionFund's funding acquisition and management efforts. This internship will support the Resource Development & Management team in raising funding for VisionFund’s strategic vision and building a diversified future funding portfolio.

Our portfolio is focused on Institutional Grant funding from foundations, multilaterals, and government, and through Philanthropic Fundraising, working closely with both WV Support Office Teams and WV National Offices and VF MFI teams.

What You'll Do:

  • Grant Writing: Carry out research to underpin grant proposals, help with the writing and proofreading in the development of Institutional grant funding proposals with experienced grants writing professionals.

  • Funding Research: Carry out desk research and mapping on potential new institutional funders for VisionFund.

  • Support Reporting for FAST: Provide significant assistance in reporting on the FAST (Finance Accelerating Savings Group Transformation) program, which is a critical component of the World Vision International THRIVE 2030 Business Plan.

  • Contribute to the Goal of Serving 800,000 Members: Play a key role in helping the program meet its goal of serving 800,000 World Vision Savings Group members by 2030.

  • Assist in Data Collection and Analysis: Support efforts to deliver customized FAST reports for World Vision donors, including GSI mapping and impact stories.

  • Coordinate Across Teams: Work closely with field teams and global center staff to ensure seamless communication and accurate report creation.

  • Learn GIS Tools: If you are unfamiliar with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), we will provide training so you can effectively contribute to mapping and data analysis efforts.

  • Receive FAST Product Training: Get technical training on the FAST product to ensure you feel confident and well-equipped to support the program's objectives.

  • Location: Remote within the US. You must be physically located in one of the following states where WVI is registered as an employer: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

  • Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: International development, monitoring & evaluation, data collection and management, English, communications, economics, marketing, public policy, finance, nonprofit management, or related fields.

  • Internship Cohort Dates: 1 June – 28 August 2026

  • Stipend: This internship is unpaid, but all US-based interns receive a monthly stipend of $800.

  • Hours: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (24-40 hours/week)

Eligibility

All candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (e.g., U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or F-1 student visa holder with valid work authorization) and possess a valid U.S. Social Security Number.

  • Able to commit to at least 24 hours per week for the entire internship period: 1 June – 28 August 2026

  • Current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate/graduate programme (within 2 years).

  • Adhere to World Vision International’s Christian Statement of Faith.

  • Willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes, and disposition to let WVI install endpoint security software in those devices.
