WHEDA is seeking 2 INTERNS to join our Single-Family Team in our Madison facility

SALARY: $18.00/hr

 POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Single-Family Intern position will provide support and process improvement related to mortgage lending programs managed by the Single-Family department.  The position will provide a unique opportunity to learn about all facets of the mortgage lifecycle, including originating, processing, underwriting, quality control, servicing and default management. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  • Review and process single family loan application documents, including splitting and indexing loan documentation related to borrower’s income, assets, credit, collateral, and regulatory disclosures.
  • Review and process single family loan closing documents, including splitting and indexing loan closing packages and trailing documents, such as final title policies, recorded mortgages and recorded assignment of mortgages.
  • Review and process incoming payoff quote requests.
  • Review and process hazard insurance.
  • Actively engages in mortgage industry training opportunities and successfully completed self-study requirements. Performs or assists with other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma; AND 0 to 2 years of accredited college education in business, finance, or related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Strong adherence to confidentiality in working with clients and vendors.
  • Proficiency with computer software, Microsoft Office, and the internet
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Successful prioritizing and management of work projects
  • Attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot for process improvement.

Remote Work Options:

This position has a work schedule that will initially be 100% in-office. After training is complete, it is at the discretion of the direct manager when the employee may begin a hybrid work schedule.
