About the Role

Dive into the dynamic world of reinsurance with our Claims team! This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop practical skills in claims management and learn portfolio management skills while working alongside industry experts in a collaborative environment.

 

About the Role

As a Claims Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience in assisting with Property & Casualty reinsurance claims, with a focus on Natural Catastrophe losses. This role will immerse you in the complete lifecycle of claims processing, from initial notification to final settlement, while developing your analytical skills and industry knowledge. You will also review the performance of the claims portfolio via data analytics and focus on extracting insights that could shape future portfolio makeup.

 

Key Responsibilities

- Analysis & Review: Review incoming claims and in-force claims for accuracy and assist with assessing coverage against reinsurance treaty contracts.

- Project Work: Participate in Natural Catastrophe Frequency deep dive, examining severity and frequency, and understanding the ultimate impact of these events on the bottom line.

 

About the Team

The Claims team within SID supports the lifecycle of claims, from initial notification to settlement, while focusing on data integrity, treaty analysis, and broker communication. The team plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient claims handling across various reinsurance lines.

 

About You

You're a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical abilities and a passion for learning. You thrive in collaborative environments and have a proactive approach to problem-solving. Your excellent communication skills enable you to interact effectively with various stakeholders.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree

- Strong proficiency in MS Office

- Strong proficiency in AI Tools & Data Analytics

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

- Meticulous attention to detail and strong numerical skills

 

These are additional nice to haves:

- Knowledge of reinsurance principles and practices

- Experience with insurance or financial services databases

- Additional language skills

- Previous internship experience in insurance or financial services

- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
