About the Role

About our group:

Seagate Technology is looking for a Test Process & Firmware Engineering Intern to join our product development team at the Singapore Design Center- Shugart. In this hands-on technical role, you will work closely with experienced mentors to enhance and innovate manufacturing test processes for industry-leading Cloud hard disk drives.

About the role - you will:

  • Design, test, and integrate solutions for read/write, servo, and firmware subsystems, including hardware initialization, troubleshooting, and performance characterization.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, controller firmware, process engineering, and high-volume manufacturing teams to support new product launches.
  • Engage with various engineering and manufacturing teams across the company, taking on roles such as technology planning, integration, and product launching at volume sites.

About you:

  • Currently enrolled as a 3rd or 4th year student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering challenges and develop effective technical solutions.
  • Strong hands-on skills with the ability to identify and debug firmware issues, analyze root causes, and drive corrective actions.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and technical leadership abilities.
  • Available to start the internship in May or June 2026.

Your experience includes:

  • Proficiency in Python and C programming languages, and familiarity with source code management systems such as Perforce.
  • Ability to be innovative and deliver results under pressure.

Location:

The Shugart site (named after Seagate’s founder, Al Shugart) is a research and design center. Easily accessible from the One-North MRT Station, many employees choose to take mass transportation to work.
