Internship Program Overview:  

Our Interns are our talent pipeline for GF across the globe. Project Title:

System Optimization and Automation Initiative

Project Objective: As an Industrial Engineering (Capacity) Intern, you will support data‑driven capacity planning initiatives by improving database integrity, optimizing simulation workflows, and developing automation solutions. You will work hands‑on with real manufacturing data, Power BI dashboards, and Power Automate flows to reduce manual effort and enable faster, more reliable capacity decisions.

Project Description:

• Ensure database accuracy and consistency across all capacity-related data

• Streamline and optimize end-to-end processes for capacity simulation to improve efficiency

• Automate repetitive tasks using Power Automate to reduce manual effort.

• Maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring data integrity and actionable insights

Project Outcome:

• Improved Data Integrity: Validate and enhance the accuracy and consistency of capacity-related databases, ensuring reliable inputs for simulation and reporting

• Optimized Simulation Workflow: Document and implement process improvements for end-to-end capacity simulation, reducing cycle time and increasing efficiency

• Automation Solutions: Develop and deploy at least 1 Power Automate flow to eliminate repetitive manual tasks, improving productivity and reducing error rates

• Enhanced Reporting Capabilities: Update and refine Power BI dashboards to provide clear, actionable insights for capacity planning, including performance metrics and trend analysis

Required Qualifications:

• Education – At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Power BI for data visualization

• Basic knowledge of Power Automate or other workflow automation tools

• Understanding of database management principles and data integrity practices.

*This application is for students undertaking a 20-24 week credit-bearing internship from June 2026 onwards.
