JOB SUMMARY


As an Intern at Hawkins Partners, you will participate in the design and execution of landscape architectural projects. You will work alongside experienced professionals and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to contribute to innovative, sustainable solutions for complex urban environments.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the development of urban landscape projects from concept through construction documentation
  • Contribute to design concepts, including creating sketches, 3D models, and presentation materials under supervision
  • Support the development of planting plans and material selections
  • Assist in the preparation of project reports, presentations, and other client deliverables
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and urban planners
  • Assist in construction administration duties, including site visits
  • Conduct research on current trends, materials, and best practices in landscape architecture to support project work

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in a Landscape Architecture or Urban Design accredited program
  • Strong design skills and ability to communicate design ideas through hand sketches and digital media
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or willingness to learn Vectorworks 
  • Experience with 3D modeling software such as SketchUp, Rhino, or Revit
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign
  • Basic understanding of landscape construction materials and methods
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with or interest in learning parametric design tools such as Grasshopper
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, particularly Revit
  • Experience in computational analysis for data-informed decision making
  • Has a willingness to learn new software and understand potential application to enhance our office's services.
  • Experience working with the application of AI platforms to landscape architecture.
