About the Role

Battery Research Intern (Internship - Summer 2026)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Battery Cell Fabrication:

    - Utilize the HATCI internal lab facilities to build cells with materials from different suppliers.

    - Collaborate with University of Michigan Battery Lab to fabricate cells for material and process evaluation .


 
Test Cell Performance:

    - Use the battery testing equipment at HATCI to measure cell performance, including metrics like cell power, cycle life, and internal resistance.

    - Collaborate with University of Michigan Battery Lab to develop cell testing protocols and evaluate cell performance at battery lab facilities.

 
Data Analysis and Reporting:

    - Analyze and compare cell performance data to evaluate materials or processes from suppliers.

    - Compile technical reports and consult with HATCI engineers to validate the test results.

    - Present the project results to the HATCI team, then plan and perform further testing as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

Basic Qualifications

  • Pursing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field  
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Korean language
