About the Role

 

Job Summary

Americas Residential, a division of ASSA ABLOY is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineering Intern to work in our headquarter office in Lake Forest, CA. This role will offer you the opportunity to be a part of a global company and a market leader in faucets, fixtures and locks.

 

We are looking for a motivated and curious DevOps Engineering Intern who is excited about cloud technologies, automation, and building scalable infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, learning modern DevOps practices, and contributing to real-world engineering projects in a cloud‑native environment. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and gain hands-on experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code. Must be available to work onsite in our Lake Forest office 3 days a week for our hybrid schedule – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Will be remote Mondays and Fridays.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in building, maintaining, and improving cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS, with occasional work in Google Cloud
  • Support the development and optimization of CI/CD pipelines for application deployment and testing
  • Help implement infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools such as AWS CloudFormation
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to improving reliability and scalability
  • Participate in security best practices, including identity management, access control, and cloud resource governance

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Cloud Computing, or a related technical field
  • Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash, Go)
  • Familiarity with source control tools such as Git, including branching, merging, and pull request workflows
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, with a proactive and positive attitude

 

Work Environment

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment
  • Hybrid work in our Lake Forest Headquarter office at least 3 days/week
