About the Role

Description

Soleo Health is seeking a Part-time Cybersecurity Analyst Intern, ideally a senior-level student or recent graduate who is interested in growing into a potential full-time, permanent roleThe position will be hybrid in Chesterfield, MO.  


This individual should be eager to learn, curious about security, and motivated to help protect sensitive healthcare data. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced cybersecurity and IT professionals to support real-world security operations in a highly regulated healthcare environment while gaining hands-on experience with security tools, risk management, and compliance practices. 


The Position:

The Cybersecurity Intern will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s security initiatives by assisting with risk assessments, vulnerability management, incident response, end-point protection, security monitoring, and related items. This position is designed for an individual eager to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity practices within a dynamic business environment. This role will collaborate with IT and Business departments to strengthen the company’s security posture, ensure compliance with industry standards, and help safeguard sensitive data and protected healthcare information (PHI). 


Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing security alerts and incidents
  • Support vulnerability scanning and remediation efforts
  • Help monitor and support End-point Detection & Response (EDR) platform tools
  • Support secure web gateway (SGW) platform tools, ensuring users maintain appropriate and secure access to necessary web sites
  • Assist in supporting the Security Information Event Management (SIEM) and overall security log correlation and threat analytics platform
  • Assist with and support the scripting of end-point deployment packages, including testing and actual client deployment to workstations as appropriate
  • Learn and assist with support of email gateway platform
  • Participate in risk assessments and compliance reviews
  • Contribute to documentation of security policies, procedures, and standards
  • Learn and assist with software security assessments and reviews
  • Assist with security audit and compliance requests
  • Assist in developing security metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Research emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Assist in recognizing gaps in application data security controls, recommend remediations
  • Collaborate closely with senior staff to grow technical skills, understand architectural patterns, and adopt best practices in cybersecurity implementations and governance 
  • Utilize on-line tools and training opportunities to grow skills in various areas including network security, security controls compliance frameworks, various security tooling platforms, along with understanding server and cloud security benchmarks
  • Eagerly learn new cybersecurity concepts and tools, all while positively receiving feedback to help encourage quick growth
  • Participate in local cybersecurity conferences and stay abreast of industry trends

  • Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:00pm
  • 35 hours per week

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an Associate or bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; Senior Year or recent graduate
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience through internships, coursework, or early professional roles
  • Foundational knowledge of networking, operating systems, and security principles including ip addressing, OSI model, MS Windows, and network port utilization
  • Experience with scripting such as Powershell or Python preferred
  • Familiar with configuration of firewalls, network devices, and/or servers in a course-work lab or corporate environment; hands-on experience is a plus
  • Familiar with the administration of EDR platforms such as Cylance, SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, or related tools
  • Familiar with the administration of internet browser protection platforms such as NetSkope, Forcepoint, Umbrella, or related tools
  • Familiar with SIEM concepts or administration
  • Comp TAI A+ or related knowledge
  • Comp TAI Security+ is a plus
  • CCNA certification or related knowledge is a plus
  • Insight into compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO, and CIS
