About the Role

General Ledger Accountant Internship

Join our team as a motivated and enthusiastic General Ledger Accountant Intern to support our procure-to-pay and accounting processes. At SumUp, our cutting-edge technology solutions are transforming how businesses manage their finances. The Role

This is a 6-month paid internship, ideally full-time (8 hours per day / 40 hours per week), office-based with flexibility. There is a possibility to extend for an additional 6 months based on performance and business needs.

As an intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in accounting operations, automation projects, and financial reporting, while working closely with experienced team members in a fast-paced, multinational environment.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Participate in automation and new business projects, including automation of intercompany invoicing

  • Support team members with document management activities

  • Verify and process inventory-related and fixed asset-related vendor invoices

  • Issue and book inter-company invoices

  • Perform calculations in Excel under the guidance of senior team members

  • Maintain good relationships with business stakeholders

  • Provide supporting documentation and reports for audits

  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports to support organizational needs

 

You’d Be Great for This Role If You:

  • Are a 3rd or 4th year student in Accounting, Finance, or a related degree

  • Are fluent in English and Bulgarian (written and spoken)

  • Have excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)

  • Have previous ERP experience (considered an advantage)

  • Have high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Are a strong team player able to interact with colleagues at all levels

  • Are target-driven and able to remain focused despite challenges

  • Can meet deadlines and work under pressure in a high-paced multinational organization
