Description of the department
The Corporate Communication Department of BNPP AM brings together roughly fifty employees across four departments:

  • Media relations - 4 people in London and 5 in Paris.
  • Increase the visibility and reputation of BNPP AM in the media whilst supporting the company's strategy and its implementation reinforcing the understanding of BNPP AM’s role and ambition to an external audience.
  • Position the company as a thought leader in its sector of activity on various topics (e.g. technology and AI. sustainability, active long-term manager). 
  • Protect the brand and the reputation of the company, especially in times of crisis and handling of sensitive issues.

The main responsibilities of the role:

  • Media Monitoring: Track and compile daily news coverage related to the company, industry trends, and competitors.
  • Press Material Preparation: Help draft press releases, media briefing notes, spokesperson biographies and other communication materials.
  • Event Support: Assist in organising press events, media briefings, drafting invitations with the help of our design team, logistics, presentation material and spokespeople briefs.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports on media coverage and outreach activities for evaluation and internal stakeholders.
  • Media List Management: Assist in maintaining and updating media contact lists and journalist databases.
  • Helping with ad-hoc and regular projects in London and Paris.
  • Contribute to ideas, content and solutions to help develop BNPP AM’s visibility in the media, aiming to position us as a thought leader in a range of sectors on various topics such as responsible investment, active long-term management and Technology and Innovation.
  • Update the website with new publications (market comments and press releases)

By the end of the internship, you should be able to:

  • Develop a solid understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and industry terminology.
  • Enhance your research, organisation, and reporting abilities.
  • Develop an understanding of how media and journalism work behind the scenes.
  • Improve your written and verbal communication skills.
  • Manage both your time and projects much more efficiently and effectively.
  • Build a professional network with media contacts and industry professionals.


Education Skills & Experience

Education

  • Studying PR/media relations, journalism, PPE, English, Finance, on a 4-year University degree with 3rd year work placement included

Skills

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a team within an international and fast-moving environment
  • Strong writing skills
  • Very organised and able to juggle multiple and shifting priorities whilst being aware of deadlines
  • It would suit a proactive self-starter who’s curious, eager to learn and with excellent attention to detail
  • Fluency in English
  • Advanced Microsoft Office

Experience

  • Demonstrated interest in media relations/PR, journalism or finance
