This role is 100% on-site, encouraging interns to collaborate and connect in person five days a week. Summer 2026 Internship Snapshot 

  • The Internship Program is a full-time (40 hours) opportunity that runs May 20 through August 14
  • In addition to your projects and tasks, New Era Interns will experience:

The Opportunity at Hand

The Human Resources Intern supports the HR team with day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives across multiple HR functions, including operations, data analytics, recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and training & development. The HR Intern will develop foundational knowledge of HR processes, compliance, and best practices and partner closely with HR team members to assist with projects, maintain accurate records, and ensure confidential handling of employee information.

Projects & Tasks 

  • Provide project and process coordination across a wide variety of HR programs and activities in support of employee full lifecycle processes 
  • Support onboarding activities, employee engagement events, and recognition initiatives 
  • Assist with revising the employee handbook
  • Audit and revamp our employee perks program 
  • Generate ad-hoc reports and dashboard analytics; understand and reconcile gaps, overlaps, and apparent contradictions within data, reports and reporting tools
  • Perform employee data audits and update materials to capture position and organizational structure changes
  • Update existing and create new materials to support recruitment and retention efforts 
  • Assist the training & development team with posts on WORLD and LinkedIn
  • Support composition of workshops and training decks
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential 
  • Other projects as assigned

What you will need to make an impact

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to quickly learn and adopt new system
  • Self-starter, motivated, ability to work independently
  • Comfortable collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate professionally via phone, email, and in-person
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to respond quickly to changing circumstances
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to enhance existing processes and solutions
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and positive, with a track record of managing change with persistence and urgency 
  • Experience in Canva is a plus 


Education and Experience

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program within Human Resource Management or related field 

This role is 100% in-person and requires on-site attendance five days a week at our Headquarters building located in downtown Buffalo. The hourly rate for this posted position is $17/hr. and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
