Job Purpose

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Communications Intern to support our efforts in crafting compelling messages and engaging content for our internal and external audiences. The Communications team works cross-functionally, providing an opportunity to interact with colleagues across various business units and functions at Albany.

Responsibilities

Content Creation and Management:

  • Assist in writing and editing engaging content for our intranet, e-Boards, emails, press releases, and social media platforms.
  • Support the creation of visual assets, such as graphics, photos, or videos.
  • Research and develop content ideas aligned with the company’s mission and goals.

Social Media Management:

  • Help manage and monitor social media channels, including drafting and scheduling posts.
    Analyze engagement metrics to provide insights and suggestions for improving social media strategies.
  • Respond to comments and messages on social platforms in a professional and timely manner, when required.

Internal Communications:

  • Contribute to internal announcements, support communication for Human Resources initiatives, and employee engagement campaigns.
  • Support the creation and distribution of communication materials for internal events and initiatives.
  • Help coordinate communication, planning, and logistics for occasional employee events.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Organize and maintain digital files, including communication materials and media assets.
  • Support team members with scheduling, meeting preparation, and other tasks as needed.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Current pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field, with at least two years of coursework completed.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0

Abilities:

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral communications
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools.
  • Basic design skills (experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools is a plus).
  • Basic photography and photo editing skills a plus
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • A proactive attitude and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong interest in storytelling, branding, and digital communications.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
