About the Role

1. Internship Topic

Developing the Sustainability Reporting capabilities of the Asian Development Bank.

 

2. Summary of Job Description

The intern will

  • Contribute to the development of a system to support the disclosure of sustainability-related financial information.
  • Support the sustainability reporting team in setting up a well-controlled system and data set for sustainability reporting. This includes documenting reporting processes and data flows and developing disclosure-to-evidence traceability. 
  • Coordinate across different departments within ADB, working with data owners across units to document data inputs and identify gaps in readiness. The focus is on creating the traceability of processes supporting sustainability related financial information. 
  • Work in the MS Share Point environment or data repositories.

 

3. Period of Assignment

Duration: 11 weeks

Timing: June 2026 onwards

 

4. Location

ADB Headquarters, Manila, Philippines

 

5. Expected Outcomes

  • A documented end-to-end reporting and assurance support workflows (process notes, roles/responsibilities, and reporting calendar inputs).
  • An organized evidence repository with clear naming conventions, version control approach, and access guidance for contributors and reviewers.
  • A working traceability pack for the sustainability report (disclosure-to-evidence matrix, data lineage log, issue/change log, and standard templates) enabling efficient limited assurance preparation.


6. Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in a master's degree or PhD program in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, sustainability/ESG, environmental management, data analytics, or a related field.

 

7. Relevant Experience and Other Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize documentation and datasets in a structured, audit-friendly way. 
  • Basic competence in Excel and document management; familiarity with SharePoint/Teams or similar repositories is an advantage. 
  • Good written communication skills (concise notes, clear templates, slide-ready summaries) and professionalism in coordinating with multiple stakeholders. 
  • High integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality; ability to follow instructions, keep logs, and escalate issues early.
  • Interest in sustainability reporting and assurance concepts; prior exposure to ESG reporting frameworks or internal controls is a plus.
  • Preferably with 2-3 years relevant professional experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
