About the position

During this assignment the student will have first-hand exposure to evaluating and analyzing structural discrepancies encountered during the aircraft manufacturing process. This will be accomplished by assisting MRB stress engineers with developing and substantiating structural repairs to both metallic and composite structures.  

  • Learn way around aircraft, components, and hardware.
  • Gain exposure and experience on how to resolve problems encountered during aircraft assembly.
  • Learn basic repair development skills.
  • Learn basic stress analysis techniques.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Blueprint and model interpretation
  • Familiarization with aircraft hardware, materials, manufacturing process
  • The MRB process
  • Engineering drafting/sketching practices
  • Application of stress/strength of materials concepts to aircraft structure

 

Education and Experience Requirements

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering

    Other Requirements:
    1. Must be enrolled as a full-time student at the time of application and actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher.
    2. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (unrounded); must be listed on resume.
    3. Minimum duration: 12–14 weeks (summer); 14–16 weeks (spring and fall).
    4. Must work onsite; this is not a remote position.
    5. Must have reliable transportation.
    This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
