PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Integral part of our Safety Department, working closely with our experienced safety professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees at the new manufacturing site. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in safety management while actively contributing to the establishment of a strong safety foundation for our organization.   

 

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Safety Inspections and Hazard Identification: Identify potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and at-risk behaviors. Assist in promptly addressing and mitigating any identified safety concerns. 
  • Incident Reporting and Investigation: Support the safety team in documenting and investigating workplace incidents, accidents, and near-miss events. Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to the development of preventative measures. 
  • Safety Training Program: Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive safety training program for employees. Help create engaging training materials and presentations on various safety topics. 
  • Safety Policy and Procedure Compliance: Ensure that all employees are aware of and comply with safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Work closely with supervisors and managers to promote a safety-first culture. 
  • Safety Communication: Assist in disseminating safety-related information through various channels, including bulletin boards, safety meetings, and digital platforms. 
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Aid in maintaining safety records, data entry, and the generation of safety performance reports. Collaborate with the safety team to identify trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Safety Program Support: Provide administrative support in managing safety programs, including safety committees and safety recognition initiatives. 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

  • Currently enrolled in a college program pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, proficient in MS Office and other applications - Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, data entry skills.
  • Genuine passion for workplace safety and a desire to contribute to creating a safe work environment
  • Detail-oriented – a keen eye for safety hazards and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent “people skills.”

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read, understand, and communicate to others topics such as company policies, employment related legal documents, company benefits, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, and communicate in English. Spanish-speaking ability a plus, but not required.
