The opportunity

As an intern in our Audit Financial Services (FSI) team, you will become part of a dynamic group working with leading institutions across the financial industry — including banks, insurance companies, investment funds, fintechs, and other regulated entities.
You will gain exposure to how financial institutions operate, how they are supervised, and how we support them as auditors.

Our projects range from annual statutory audits and quarterly limited reviews to specialized procedures on credit portfolios, IFRS 9 models, AML/KYC processes, and various risk management activities.

  • Fluency in both Romanian and English is required
  • Confidence in Excel, including common functions and conditional formatting

 

Your responsibilities will also include:

    • Validating documents received from clients — such as credit files, treasury positions, investment portfolios, confirmations, or regulatory submissions — and summarizing them for audit testing
    • Documenting financial services specific external confirmations (e.g., bank confirmations, custody positions, loan balances, deposits, investment portfolios)
    • Supporting the testing of internal controls relevant for FSI clients, such as credit underwriting, customers’ accounts and transactions, treasury operations, or insurance claims processes
    • You will be using Excel extensively in your work, including common functions such as SUMIF, VLOOKUP, COUNTIF, filters, pivot tables, and conditional formatting
    • Learning and using internal EY tools for workflow management, data analysis, documentation, and execution of audit procedures
    • Summarizing key information required by the senior team members of the team
    • Assisting in preparing year‑end balance sheet schedules by processing client data according to team guidelines
