About the Role

Schneider Electric’s commitment to operational excellence and digital transformation means we are seeking a motivated Automation Intern to join our team. This role will work closely with Quality, Product Support, and Training teams to identify, prioritize, and implement automation opportunities that streamline workflows and enhance how we operate. Gain hands-on experience delivering a real automation project, while building program management and cross-functional collaboration skills. You'll receive mentorship from leaders in digital operations and develop practical strengths in workflow analysis, prioritization, communication, and modern automation tools.

 

The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn how automation can make a real-world impact. This internship combines hands-on problem-solving with cross-functional program management, providing experience in both analysis and execution.

 

What will you do?

  • Process Discovery, Analysis & Prioritization:
    • Learn how teams work today, document workflows, assess pain points, and identify automation or streamlining opportunities.
    • Evaluate and prioritize opportunities based on potential impact to the business.
    • Present recommendations to leadership for decision-making.
  • Automation & Tangible Project Execution:
    • Develop and implement high‑impact automation projects, managing timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure at least one tangible solution is launched during the internship.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to test, refine, and document automated workflows.
  • Program Management & Cross‑Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with Training, Quality, and Product Support teams to align on goals, facilitate meetings, track action items, and communicate status to stakeholders.
    • Support change management and training as new workflows are rolled out.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement & Critical Evaluation:
    • Identify outdated, redundant, or ready for discontinuation workflows and recommend improvements that enhance team efficiency and customer experience.

What qualifications will make you successful?

 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Interest in automation, computer science, or process improvement.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritize tasks based on impact.
  • Comfortable collaborating with diverse teams and communicating ideas clearly.
  • Experience with workflow automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, UiPath, scripting, or similar) is a plus but not required.
  • Must reside in one of our HUB locations: Nashville, TN / Dallas, TX / Boston, MA / Raleigh, NC / Chicago, IL

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $23.00 - $35.50 per hour, depending on undergraduate or graduate status. In addition, this position is eligible for overtime pay and recognition programs.

 

The compensation rate for this position is for candidates located within the United States. Individual pay is determined by several factors, including knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
