Gain knowledge of the heath care organization while utilizing skills to assist the organization’s operations.

 

Details: 

  • Observe and study the role, function, and style of management individuals.
  • Understand the goals and planning process of the organization and how they are determined, and understand the priorities of the organization and how and why they were selected.
  • Analyze the decision-making process at different levels of the organization.
  • Gain practical experience at various administrative and operational levels of the organization by completing special projects assigned by the management team.
  • Understand the dynamics of relationships between various stakeholders.
  • Obtain an understanding of the operational effectiveness of the organization.
  • Enhance the student’s understanding of the healthcare industry, the organization’s strategy and distinctive competencies.
  • Strengthen the student’s judgment, decisiveness and related administrative skills in a healthcare environment.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
  • Reports on the job as scheduled.
  • Follows all standard safety precautions.
  • Follows the standards of conduct and policies and procedures of St. Mary’s Medical Center and applicable laws and regulations and reports violations through the appropriate chain of command.
  • Annually completes required competency assessments.
  • Utilize appropriate measures to promote and maintain patient safety.
  • Makes decisions which include using the age of the patients treated when appropriate.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of operation to include but not limited to the required unit specific equipment/procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of on-going unit specific performance improvement activities.
Qualifications

Minimum:  Bachelor’s Degree or pursing internship for degree completion.
