Position Overview

We’re looking for an Architectural Intern to support our Architecture and Building Envelope team. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience in existing building restoration, architectural documentation, field investigations, and construction administration. You’ll work closely with project leaders, architects, and engineers to develop foundational skills in building materials, construction detailing, and technical writing while contributing to active projects across New York City.

This internship is ideal for students or emerging professionals looking to build real-world architectural experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

Project Support & Collaboration

  • Assistproject leaders across various project types and phases under direct supervision.
  • Support design and documentation tasks using prescribed methods and established standards.
  • Conduct basic research to support design decisions or projectproblem solving.
  • Participate actively in ateam-oriented, collaborative studio environment.

Documentation & Technical Writing

  • Prepare project documents with guidance, including meeting minutes, field reports, hand sketches, and construction drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Create new drawings and revise existing drawings based on field conditions and design direction.
  • Maintain organized project notes, files, and photographs.
  • Draft technical letters and reports in clear, articulate language.

Fieldwork & Site Observation

  • Participate in building site inspections under supervision, including roofs, basements, and exterior envelopesobservedfrom street level.
  • Take field measurements and convert collected data intoaccurateelectronic drawings.
  • Document site conditions and report findings to the project leader to support troubleshooting and project planning.
  • Observe contractor work with guidance and alert the project team to discrepancies between construction and project documents.

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Enrollment in,or recent completion of aBachelor’s or Master’sdegree program in Architecture. 
  • Foundational knowledge of building materials, basic construction detailing, and architectural design principles. 
  • Proficiencyin AutoCAD; willingness to buildproficiencyinadditionalsoftware as needed. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in technical writing. 
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks in afast-pacedenvironment. 
  • Interestin existing building restoration, building envelope systems, andhands-onlearning through fieldwork.

Preferred:

  • Prior internship or studio experience related to architecture, construction, or building envelope work. 
  • Familiarity with field documentation, measuring existing conditions, or site observation. 
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, or Revit. 

Work Environment & Schedule

  • This position is basedin New York City, NY,with expectations of being in the Midtown office
  • Standard working hours are 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday –Thursday
  • Summer internship –10 weeks: June 1, 2026– August 7, 2026

Rate of Pay: $20/ hour
