About the Role
Position Overview
 
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structural Engineering Intern to join our team for our summer internship program. This position provides hands-on experience in the analysis, design, and documentation of structural systems for commercial and industrial projects.
We offer interns the unique opportunity to see projects from concept through construction. Interns will gain practical experience not only in structural design but also through job site visits to observe the construction process and understand how engineering decisions translate into built work.
Exceptional interns may be considered for an extension beyond the summer term based on performance and company needs.
 
Responsibilities
  • Support preparation of calculation packages and structural reports
  • Assist in developing structural details and sketches using Revit
  • Participate in job site visits to observe construction progress and gain field experience
  • Support responses to RFIs Submittal Reviews
  • Maintain organized and accurate project documentation
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals (statics, mechanics of materials)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Attributes
  • Completed coursework in structural analysis and reinforced concrete and/or steel design
  • Experience with Revit
  • Knowledgeable in structural analysis concepts and load path fundamentals
  • EIT/FE exam passed
  • Interest in structural consulting and building design
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and accept constructive feedback
