Job Summary
The Project Engineer Intern will work with our Industrial Services team. This position is responsible for ensuring that the project(s) runs smoothly and if any issues occur, they are corrected immediately. This position will report to the Project Engineer OR Superintendent. Must be able to pass drug and alcohol pre-employment and on-going testing. Experience working in a heavy industrial construction setting a plus, but individuals with strong computer skills and ability to work a diverse group of individuals is required.

The ideal candidate will be individuals who are humble, hungry & smart.

 This position will be a (PAID) Internship position.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain a daily project diary and help establish project priorities.
  • Daily timecard entry and approval
  • Track and record project costs, production quantities, yield statistics, and onsite inventory counts.
  • Compile cycle times and production information and log this information for historical data.
  • Gather pay item quantities and collect information on extra work items.
  • Conduct timely billing and reporting to maximize profit margins and positive cash flow.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently pursuing a CM, CE, ME, EE Engineering, or related degree
  • Understanding basic industrial construction projects.
  • Ability to travel to various job locations.
  • Strong computer skills required with a special emphasis on Excel skills.
  • Experience in the construction industry preferred.

Preferred:

  • Competent in all Microsoft products and scheduling experience
  • Strong work ethic, ability to prioritize and excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to work both in field and office settings and an ability to work in a high production, fast moving environment.
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of insurability is required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
  • Must be a team player.

Work Environment:

  • Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
  • Manufacturing, pipeline, and refining environment.
  • Fit and move in confined spaces including tanks and vessels.
  • Limited working surfaces.
  • Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
  • Exposure to areas with limited visibility.

This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
