About the Role

The intern will be responsible for coding, production, modification, documentation and maintenance of enterprise class websites and applications for desktop and mobile. The intern will develop on the .NET platform and use React to build front-end applications. Further, you will work closely with our project managers and business analysts to write clean, modular, and efficient code that enable our digital products.

You will be an integral role within the Fleet Optimization and Marine Operations department that actively codes and develops the next generation of responsive Project Management web apps. The intern uses technical knowledge to solve business problems, by means of a systematic and disciplined approach. The Fleet Optimization Marine Operations team’s goal is to implement initiatives that will reduce our operating costs and reduce risk.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, documentation, and improvement of software. Meet with stakeholders to gather requirements and transform into a deliverable solution. A practical understanding of agile methodology.
  • Review, augment, and improve the code for multiple full stack web and client/server applications written using C# and the .NET framework as well as JavaScript environments and frameworks, e.g., React.
  • Take responsibility for architecture, test automation, and quality.
  • Work independently with Business Partners, Product Managers and Business Analysts to shape ideas and requirements into applications following industry standard guidelines for code/database maintenance and performance.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and application integration partners.
  • Utilize and build RESTful backend services.
  • Prototype AI-powered tools (e.g., chatbots, copilots, or workflow agents) that assist with project management, reporting, or developer productivity. 



QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B. Sc Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics or Math
  • Experience with web development using modern technologies.
  • Exposure/understanding of object-oriented programming, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Experience with relational databases and database normalization.
  • Knowledge of agile methodology.
  • Interest in learning new languages, tools, and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and basic prompt design.
  • Coursework or projects in machine learning, data science, or artificial intelligence.
