About the Role
DEKA Research and Development, housed in Manchester, NH, has an exciting opportunity for an Software Engineering Co-Op to work in a dynamic Research and Development environment. This position will give exposure to several different aspects of software development including test automation, hands on trouble shooting, implementation based on software requirements and working on a product that directly improves user’s lives.

DEKA offers Internships and Co-Ops for full time students* (must be at least 18 years of age). This position is for a 6+ month rotation for the Summer/Fall semester starting in June 2026 (6 months).

How you will make an impact as a Software Engineer Co-Op:
  • Improve automated testing through investigation and code debugging
  • Perform verification and validation activities using automated software testing and test fixtures
  • Use software engineering knowledge to solve issues found in embedded and test software
  • Support development of software
  • Learn about software processes and utilization of development tools

To be successful in this role you need the following skills and experience:
  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent program
  • Must have successfully completed at least one year of programming course(s)
  • C++ programming experience a plus
  • Python programming experience a plus
  • Must be a self-starter eager to contribute in a team environment
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented

*Applicants should be aware that short-term housing options in Manchester, NH are limited and that DEKA is not able to financially assist with housing.

Please be aware that we try to make sure that our internship opportunities are well defined and will provide a unique experience. We understand that most candidates would like to know if they have a placement as soon as possible, but at DEKA it takes more time than other companies at we review every application that is submitted.  We will try to let you know as soon as we can, but encourage you to pursue other opportunities as well.

*A full time student is defined as being enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits per semester at an undergraduate program, or a minimum of 9 credits per semester for a graduate program.
