Dealership: Crosstown Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram
Location: Edmonton, AB

Start Your Career in the Shop

This is an entry-level position designed for individuals who want to build a long-term career as an Automotive Technician. You will begin by supporting the shop and service team while developing foundational skills, with the opportunity to grow into an apprenticeship pathway over time based on performance, skill level, and readiness.

As an Automotive WIL Student, you will support technicians and service advisors while learning core shop operations and vehicle maintenance fundamentals.


What Drives Your Day-to-Day?

  • Assist technicians with basic vehicle service tasks

  • Perform oil top-ups and fluid checks

  • Check and adjust tire pressures

  • Support vehicle scans and basic diagnostic processes

  • Move vehicles in and out of the shop safely

  • Assist with quality control road tests

  • Maintain shop cleanliness and organization

  • Support general shop duties and workflow as needed

  • Learn through hands-on mentoring alongside experienced technicians

  • Job shadowing with some shop maintenance and limited working alone

If you are looking to get your WIL hours completed, you will have an opportunity to gain hands on experience at a large and diverse service centre in Edmonton.

As your skills develop, you will gradually take on more technical responsibilities under supervision.


What Are the Must-Haves?

  • Strong interest in pursuing a career as an Automotive Technician

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a shop environment

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to meet physical demands (lifting, standing for long periods, working with tools and equipment)

  • Valid Canadian driver’s license with a safe driving history

  • Punctuality, Good attitude and eagerness

  • No experience necessary, good with hand tools


This placement will take place from April - May 2026
