SUMMARY: The Internship Program offers students who are approaching graduation within the next year a hands-on, immersive experience, gaining professional experience within a global luxury river cruise line. Interns will gain exposure to the core functions of the cruise business while working alongside experienced professionals. They will contribute to meaningful projects while developing career-ready skills, aligned with academic learning objectives. The program is designed to provide exposure to business operations, professional competencies, and real-world business skills through mentorship, and career exploration opportunities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Learn and understand AmaWaterways’ business model, organizational structure, and departmental functions
- Support assigned department with day-to-day operations, projects, and initiatives
- Collaborate with experienced professionals and mentors to gain insight into cruise line operations and industry best practices
- Apply academic knowledge to real-world business challenges and contribute creative, data-informed solutions
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and presentations to develop professional communication and business skills
- Communicate professionally with colleagues across departments and levels of the organization
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills while managing multiple tasks and deadlines
- Contribute to meaningful cross-functional projects aligned with departmental goals and academic learning objectives
- Engage in professional development activities, including mentorship sessions, training workshops, and career exploration opportunities
- Complete special projects and presentations as assigned throughout the internship
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled as a college student who is approaching graduation within the next year and pursuing a degree in business, hospitality, tourism, accounting, marketing, information technology, human resources, or a related field
- Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite; Project Management Software, Database Software, Design Software, Internet Software, Electronic Mail Software
- Other skills required:
- Strong interest in travel, hospitality, or cruise industry
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a professional environment
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and commitment to learning
