About the Role
Responsibilities

Project Description:

 

Noblis is seeking a qualified technical intern for Summer 2026 with course work and laboratory experience in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or similar domain. The candidate will work with a small team of Noblis scientists to increase understanding of, and develop potential therapeutics for traumatic brain injures (TBI). The ideal candidate is motivated, dependable, detail-oriented, has a positive attitude and a passion for applied research. 

 

The intern will:

 

  • Work on-site in a laboratory setting for at least 4 days a week.
  • Perform lab-based experiments, develop Standard Operating Procedures and design analytic capabilities
  • Meet at least weekly with the team to outline, monitor, and close a summer project.
  • Present results to Noblis scientists for discussion and analysis.
  • Prepare a final report and oral presentation.
  • Stay abreast of the scientific literature on project-related topics 
  • Draft materials to support publication of results and secure funding for follow-on project(s)
  • Work autonomously and in a team environment with a positive collegial attitude.

Required Qualifications

  • A GPA of 3.3 or higher
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, bioinformatics, or similar domain with an expected graduation date between by June 2027; or in any stage of a doctorate degree
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills an ability to conduct laboratory and literature research independently 
  • Previously completed at least one summer / semester / term of supervised laboratory experience in biochemistry and/or organic synthesis.

  • Experience with natural products isolation, synthesis, and/or biosynthetic catalysis a plus
  • Experience with protein modeling software such as Pymol, Alphafold, MPNN, etc.,
  • A high degree of ethical and scientific standards

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.

USD $23.00 - USD $38.00 /Hr.
