About the Role
 
 

Quality Engineering Internship

Scot Forge Company is looking to hire three Quality Interns for the Summer of 2026 at the corporate facility in Spring Grove, IL.  A quality internship provides experience with exposure to our manufacturing processes and procedures in addition to applying various engineering principles.

Anticipated Projects include:

  • Review and alignment of procedures and training documentation including code of conduct. Help to develop and update procedures by gathering and including tribal knowledge.
  • Report out on daily non-conformances (NC) in addition to review and follow up of outstanding NC’s from 2024 and early 2025.
  • Repeatability and reproducibility (R&R) gage study on key pieces measuring equipment such as Pie Tapes, Calipers, Profilometers.
  • Gathering data and applying standard statistics to prove capability of higher volume shop orders.
  • Create guide for standard gauging purchase for all machine assets.

Qualifications:

  • Sophomore/Junior/Senior currently pursuing Mechanical, Industrial or related Engineering Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficient with computers. Data base software, MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing procedures.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills. 

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Will be working in an office environment with exposure to plant floor.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Must be able to pass a 90 day head hair drug test today.

The estimated pay range for this position is the lowest and highest range we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We ultimately may pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. The actual base pay offered to a candidate will depend on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, geographic location and prevailing minimum wage, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.
