Position Overview


Beedie is a fully integrated real estate investment, development, construction and asset management firm headquartered in Burnaby, BC with offices in Vancouver, BC, Calgary, AB and Toronto, ON. We specialize in the acquisition and development of residential and commercial real estate across Canada and the United States.  Beedie currently manages an industrial portfolio in excess of 23 million square feet and has developed thousands of acres of land, making the company one of the largest and most-respected industrial real estate firms in Canada.


This individual will play an integral role in growing Beedie’s industrial portfolio across Eastern Canada. This includes underwriting, assisting in acquisition due diligence and asset management of the existing portfolio at a very fast paced, growing real estate firm. Moreover, this individual will be exposed to the development, construction, and sales and marketing aspects of active projects across Eastern Canada. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated and detailed-oriented individual to join Beedie at an exciting time for the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial analysis for a wide range of real estate investments, including modelling of real estate cash flows, financing assumptions, IRRs, output sensitivities etc. using Excel and Argus Enterprise.
  • Support the Investments team through the deal execution and due diligence process.
  • Track & record all new potential acquisitions in the CRM database. This includes creating new information records for land, brokers, and companies.
  • Gather and evaluate economic and market data in target markets to support key underwriting assumptions and assist in preparation of memos, presentations and reports for management as needed.
  • Support the Asset Management team in executing asset-level strategies focused on maximizing value, optimizing capital structure, and growing property-level NOI.
  • Travel from time to time related to asset and market activity and meetings with management teams, partners and brokers.
  • Review site plans in conjunction with the Development, Design and Sales teams and understand any impacts to the underwriting, feasibility, and saleability of the project as changes arise.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and special assignments as needed.


Desired Skills and Experience
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance or Mathematics from a top-rated undergraduate or graduate program. Preference will be given to students in 3rd of 4th year of an undergraduate program or the final year of a graduate program.
  • Proven interest in real estate, corporate finance and/or related fields through participation in academic clubs or previous intern experience.
  • Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; a working knowledge of Argus Enterprise would be an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
